Fundraising Team
YeAABA are a charity and the costs of running 14 Championship events, keep 2 Fast Rescue Crafts and 12 escort boats and their engines in good working order, covering the costs of insurance, Pier rental, Electric, Boat Fuel and many other costs to keep the club running there must be a good fundraising plan organised and implemented. Funding Bids and Grant applications are required so that most of the costs can be realised rather than asking members for money time and time again. This may be something a volunteer has previous experience and knowledge about, or it may be something you would like to be involved in by joining the existing fundraising team.
Swim Event Planning
Documents for Championship Events and Harbour Training need to be completed/ reviewed and updated and sent to all water users, Scottish Swimming and Port Authority at the correct times. Knowledge of Risk Assessments, Port Authority, Championship Dates (usually start planning as soon as season finishes in September for the following year) Licence applications and Tides is essential to allow the planning. Information needs to be available to whoever makes the Championship Event programmes at least a week before the event date. This can all be done by attending Swim Team meetings and being mentored by volunteers who have knowledge of the role.
Boat Shed Team
This role would be suited to someone he has some knowledge of engines and boats or is keen to help prepare the boats and trailers ready for safe use at all events. They will be part of a team that will keep the boat shed in good order and ensure all tools and equipment are stored safely and securely.
