Bookings for these dates are now open. These are for Swimmers and also Boatmen / Lifesavers / Harbour Duty personnel to advise convener of your availability to swim or assist in facilitating the training.
Please remember you MUST be a Member of YEAABA to participate, so make sure to return your Membership form and swimmers must have paid the relevant fees, allowing time for the SASA registration to be completed. Volunteer only registration is covered by the club.
From 1st Apr, we are using Spond, which is a sports club membership portal, to help with the club administration. Once you have been sucessfully registered with Scottish Swimming, you will be sent a link to use to access the YeAABA Spond site.
Once you have accessed spond you will be able to register for events listed, either as a swimmer or in a volunteer capacity. This will allow us to determine if we have sufficient cover to make the event run.
This year we are starting with the harbour training dates. Next year (25/26) we will add the club only swims to Spond as well, leaving only the “Open” swims bookable via the website.
Harbour training requires 4 – 5 support personnel (even if just for 1 swimmer), a Safety boat with a boatman and lifesaver aboard, and a Harbour Duty person who is throw rope trained. We also require to provide First Aid cover, which may be one of the aforementioned, or may need to be a separate person to cover that specific role. If we don’t get these roles covered, then training sadly cannot go ahead.
If any member (or volunteer) wishes to volunteer for any of the duties (some may require training) or wishes to swim (48hrs notice must be given) can you please use the Spond membership app or website, to let us know of your availability / intentions.
